Kimberly Rayburn has been teaching with the Escambia Virtual Academy since 2011. She currently serves as the Instructional Leader for Elementary. Mrs. Rayburn attended Escambia county public schools, graduating from Washington High School in 1985. She continued her education ( although undecided about what she wanted to do when she "grew up" ) by attending what was then Pensacola Junior College, and received her AA degree in elementary education. She then began attending the University of West Florida, and just about the time she should have graduated, changed her major from education to Social Work. She earned her BSW in December of 1990, and went on to work for the state of Florida in Child Protective Services. She later worked with a non-profit organization helping foster children and infants find "forever families" through the adoption process.
Mrs. Rayburn earned her Master’s in Special Education in March, 2008 from the University of West Florida.
Mrs. Rayburn is married to her husband Bob and together they have three children. Their oldest son, Quint, is twelve years old and an avid fan of the Florida Gators football team, as well as a gifted baseball player. Her middle child, Hunter, is eleven years old and is also a die-hard Gators fan, and an excellent baseball player. Princess Abbey (yes, she probably believes that is really her name), is four years old and loves everything her big brothers love. She enjoys gymnastics and is about to begin cheerleading.
Mrs. Rayburn is enthusiastic about Escambia Virtual Academy and loves hearing all of the activities her students are involved in outside of school. She is dedicated to making your virtual school experience one to remember, and wants every child to be successful in all they do!
