Jeremy Lowery has worked with Escambia Virtual Academy (EVA) since its first year, 2009-2010. He has worked in education since 2001. During this time Mr. Lowery has taught at the elementary, middle school, high school and collegiate levels. Certified in Education Administration, Exceptional Student Education, Physical Education, Biology, and Mathematics, Mr. Lowery has taught numerous courses during his tenure with EVA. Currently, he acts as the math tutor for EVA, teaching Algebra I, Algebra II, Liberal Arts Math, Advanced Algebra, Precalculus, and Health Opportunities through Physical Education (HOPE). He also serves as the Instructional Leader for High School.
Mr. Lowery is a National Board Certified Teacher in Young Adult and Adolescent Mathematics. He received a Bachelor of Science from Auburn University in 1997 in Resource Management. In 2004, he was granted a Master of Education in Secondary Curriculum and Instruction from the University of West Florida. In 2011, he received a Master of Science in Educational Administration and Leadership from Troy University. in 2013, he received his Specialist in Education Curriculum and Instruction from the University of West Florida. Mr. Lowery continues to pursue an Educational Doctorate in Teacher Education from the University of West Florida.
Prior to becoming a full-time EVA instructor in 2011, Mr. Lowery served as the Escambia County District Secondary Instructional coach for Mathematics and Science. The majority of his career in Escambia County was spent at West Florida High School where he served as the Mathematics Department Chair. During this time he has been recognized for outstanding achievement by both Who's Who of American High School Teachers and Who's Who of United States College Professors. He also received the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Alabama Independent School Association. In 2012, Mr. Lowery was honored as the Escambia County Council of Teachers of Mathematics Math Educator of the Year. A resident of Pensacola, he has three children.
